• California's Unclaimed Property
    $4.8 billion dollars!!

The State of California is holding more than $4.8 billion in Unclaimed Property. These assets have been turned over to the State for safekeeping by cities, counties, courts, banks, businesses and other organizations as required by law.

Unclaimed property consists of money, bonds, stocks, jewelry, contents of safe deposit boxes, security deposits, overpayments, undeliverable refunds, proceeds from court cases, and more.

Note: AOL and Earthlink users may have problems with the State's search engine. Please click here for more information.

• Nationwide - Unclaimed Items
State governments working together to safeguard and return your lost funds.

• U.S. Savings Bonds - Unclaimed
Have you ever wondered how to recover a bond or interest payment that you should have received in the mail? Are you wondering if a deceased relative owned securities?

• IRS Refunds - Unclaimed
The IRS may be looking for you; not because you owe money, but because the IRS may owe you. Each year, the post office is unable to deliver tens of thousands of refund checks, so they are returned to sender, the IRS. MSNBC maintains the best, central location, to search for IRS refunds for residents in all 50 States.

• CA Unclaimed Property Auction
If the property is not claimed, eventually it is offered for sale at an auction. In years past the State has sold unclaimed property in Sacramento at California Exposition (Cal Expo) location.

The State uses the online auctioneer services of Lone Star Auctioneers, Inc., and you may click here to sign-up for their notifications.

Interesting Note: If someone tells you they've found something of value that may be yours, and they want you to give them a potion of it as a finders-fee, just come here and find it for yourself, for FREE!

• HUD / FHA - Unclaimed Money
Does HUD / FHA owe you money? If you had an FHA-insured mortgage, you may be eligible for a refund from HUD/FHA.

• Pension Benefits - Unclaimed
When a company's pension plan is transferred to Pension Benefits Guaranty Corporation (PBGC), the company is sometimes unable to locate persons who participated in that plan and is hence unable to give them any benefits they may be owed. PBGC is now continuing to look for them through the "Missing Participants" service.

• FDIC - Unclaimed Insurance
If a financial institution is closed, by a regulatory agency, the FDIC is appointed as Receiver and is responsible for the payment of insured deposits and the liquidation of the remaining assets. If you did not claim your funds previously you now have another opportunity to do so.
